Sales & Brand Development Manager

West Coast Beauty is a distributor of premium hair care and beauty brands serving the province of British Columbia for over 30 years.

We are a company founded on relationships and education and, as such, are looking for a leader who will work directly with our sales team to continue to build loyalty within our community of salons & spas.

Reporting to the President, the Sales & Brand Development is a key member of the senior leadership team and is tasked with driving growth and continuing to create strong relationships with clients & strategic partners.

This person must have outstanding organizational, leadership and effective communication skills, display a positive demeanour and high degree of professionalism and have a keen interest and understanding of the beauty industry, inclusive of the importance of personal grooming and presentation. They must show and take initiative and have the ability to prioritize and follow through on a multitude of tasks in a fast paced demanding environment. They must be honest, hardworking, creative, willing to try new ideas and encourage the sales team to exceed the limits of their own expectations.

Requirements & Responsibilities:
  • Develop existing business and manage a targeted approach to opening new business with District Sales Consultants (DSC’s) and key accounts
  • Work to grow sales, engagement and education within the territory through training, educational events and special salon programs
  • Create, assist and ensure placement of new initiatives in salons and across the market
  • Maintain and build strong relationships with key business stakeholders including DSC’s, department leaders, Salons, Stylists and Educators
  • Detail on the road with DSC’s to identify specific areas of focus and coach them to attain high quality standards and optimal potential
  • Attend and present sales meetings, introduce new products, key initiatives, changes in pricing, field questions and be up to date on current promotions
  • Sit in on department meetings, and have a general understanding of the operational aspects of all areas of the company
  • Understand, track, report and build sales goals and growth objectives with management and manufacturers
  • Monitor progress and assist in the development and follow through of DSC’s Sales Goals
  • Help and encourage the sales team to build on current successes in their territory and identify the next steps in the territories growth and overall direction
  • Engage with DCS’s and Salon owners to identify ways to grow the individual salon’s business based on their needs and specialties
  • Support the sales team with account planning and goal setting at the salon and distributor levels
  • Identify key markets where the West Coast Beauty brands could be taken deeper and establish a timeline and action steps for follow through
  • Request and monitor monthly sales and education activity and reports to ensure goals are being met
  • Execute a high level of organizational and operational skills and excellence in communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attend special events, entertain customers often before or after hours and have a flexible schedule
  • Have the ability and willingness to travel within and outside British Columbia
  • Results driven and self motivated
  • A strong understanding of social media and how it’s used within the beauty industry
  • Able to influence and lead diverse groups of people to achieve mutually beneficial results
  • Has a high degree of computer proficiency including data management, analysis, reporting and presentation skills.
  • A Business degree and/or 5 plus years of relevant work experience in a sales driven organization, with evidence of building team loyalty and developing sales growth. Hair/Beauty industry knowledge and experience is preferred but not essential

There is a strong compensation package available for the right person plus bonus based on achieving performance goals and a generous health & benefits plan.
